AIGA Boston | Professional Development Series
Speakers: Sharron Menninger and Dominic Jones, Stage

How can brands make use of the senses to extend their impact and communication with users and clients?
Synesthesia is a neurological disorder that results in the confusion of the five senses (sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste). Through a “murder mystery” type game, workshop participants explore how most companies do not make use of all five senses when creating a brand experience. Participants learn how strong brands, in effect, promote a positive form of synesthesia.

The Objectives
• Understand the broadening scope of brand development
• Discover why some brands are quickly identified and others are not
• Learn how different disciplines can work together to influence brand experience
• Meet and work with your colleagues in a fun and informative atmosphere

Stage is an award-winning branding firm helping companies to connect with users through research, product design, and packaging design. A straight visual branding approach is not competitive in today’s environment. Companies that rely solely on visual communications will start to lose their brand recognition. The Synesthesia Workshop helps companies understand how to strengthen their products or services by creating multi-sensory experiences.
